Reach for the Moon

I have been pretty silent on my blog.  Life just gets too busy!
I figured it was time for me to get back on here and let you know what I have been up to lately.
I have a bucket list of pictures I want to take.  I can now check three off my list.

The reach for the Moon shot was of my three grandchildren, taken while they were staying with me last week-end.  I am so in love with this image!

Tepee – The next image is of my other grand daughter in a tepee I recently made.  I have had the poles for a year but could never figure out what fabric I wanted to get for it.  I love how it turned out!

Pool – The final images were taken in our pool.  I have always wanted to offer pool sessions for a more edgy look for seniors.  I think I am hooked!  They were so fun!!!!

Preston / Dundas Child and Family Photographer

OK maybe I am a little biased since Preston is my God daughters little boy but I think he is just the cutest little guy ever!  I have never seen such a happy baby.
Such an adorable family too.

DJJD Western Portrait Update

I am just finishing up the last few sessions.  They should all be on my website by Monday evening.  Hang tight because they are soooo worth the wait.  So many cute images from this year.
I would post a few of my favorites on this post but that would take me away from editing so for now you all will just have to wait.

Western Theme Mini Sessions / Northfield

It will still be a little while until I can get through all of the western mini sessions but until then I just have to share one of my favorites.  This little one was amazing and slept right through all my poses.

So many cute images from our week-end mini sessions.

I am considering doing theme Santa portraits.  This would not be the ordinary mall portraits with Santa.  It would be an elaborate set design with children interacting with Santa.  I would need to rent a Santa and purchase a backdrop so before investing the money in it I would love to know if anyone is interested in something like this.  Send me an email and let me know if you are interested and I will put my plans in motion.IMG_9537

I am still alive!

This time of year I always neglect my blog.  If I am not taking pictures I am buried in sessions to edit.

We had such a successful turnout for the western theme portraits at Defeat of Jesse James Days.  We did 59 sessions in two days.  Add that onto all my newborns, children, families and high school senior pictures and you can see why you haven’t heard from me in a while.

Here are a couple adorable images from some sessions I am working on right now.

I just love these kiddos and would love to just follow them around half a day and photograph them.  There is nothing cuter than a little kid with a chicken.

Wild West Mini Sessions / Northfield

It’s that time of year again!  We will be returning to the Defeat of Jesse James Days again this year offering mini sessions on Friday and Saturday during the celebration.
Our booth is located on the back wall of the Northfield Ice Arena.   To avoid long lines you can call before the 5th to schedule an appointment.  Walk-ins are also welcome…FYI…it is usually slower between noon and 3:00.

Jackson / Lonsdale Newborn Photographer

I could not wait to share images from this session.  Little Jackson was the perfect newborn model.  We did so many different sets with him and he just slept through it all.  I am so in love with everyone of his images that I had a hard time editing it down to my favorites.  I loved his little hairy ears!

Savanna / Shakopee Newborn

I am working long hours trying to make up some of the days I lost editing while spending time with my little loves.

Here is a  little sneak peek of sweet little Savanna’s session.  She is such a little doll.  I love her big eyes and her fluffy hair.

Grandchildren / Making Memories

I had three of my grandchildren here for four days so that meant taking time away from my computer and spending quality time with them.  Every year they come and stay with me for a few days while their parents go on a camping trip.  I forget how exhausting it can be trying to keep them entertained and feeding them, but you know what…I enjoy every second of it!  The last few years I have been doing a treasure hunt for them.  It is getting more and more difficult coming up with clues leading them around the yard to their final treasure.  It sure is fun watching them all work together trying to decipher my clues.

Of course I had to pull out the camera one of the days and play.  Here are a few shots of Miss Liliana dressed in this adorable outfit I picked up for a shoot I have in mind.  I plan to take her downtown sometime and get some images of her with her hands full of shopping bags.  I think she pulled off the look very well.  lol   I love this sweet sassy little girl with so much personality!
